Jürgen Kleinwächter Curriculum Vita

1944        born in Dresden, Germany grew up in France, Egypt and Germany
studied Physics and Astrophysics at the University of Grenoble
1969        master degree
1971        thesis in deep-temperature physics (Dr.es sciences)
1971        establishes the private Solar Institute KLERA ("Kleinwächters Entwicklung und
Forschung, Raumfahrt und Atomtechnik") with his father Professor Hans
Kleinwächter
1977 - 1979        undertakes basic research and development in light-weight optics, thermodynamics and concentrator photovoltaic systems
1980 - 1985        develops modular solar power stations with light-weight concentrators and high-temperature Stirling engines
1984        starts commercialization of solar heating systems for swimming pools and solar day-lighting systems
1987        begin of cooperation with the Max-Planck Institut, Mülheim/Ruhr and IHK Stuttgart for the development of a thermo-chemical solar heat-storage system
1994 - 2000        develops:
o        innovative, crank less Stirling technology SUNPULSE™ for low-and middle-temperature engines
o        a multifunctional solar energy system for employment in architectural structures (SOLARENVELOPE™)
o        a novel day-lighting system (SOLUX™)

1994 - 2001 Managing Director of Bomin Solar Research GmbH, a subsidiary of the Swiss Bomin Solar Holding AG
since May 2001 Managing Director and majority owner of BSR Solar Technologies GmbH and Solar Dynamics GmbH
2003 Foundation of the Sunvention International company to develop multifunctional
Energy Power Greenhouses (EPG, Envelope Technologies)
Co-Chairman
2003 - 2009 Combining the different elements of Envelope Technologies (membranes,
optics, PV and thermal receivers, heat-storages, Stirling engines) to different
pilot installations in several locations.
Preparing an international network for the dissemination of these technologies.
He is a consultant to UNESCO, member of the international board of EUROSOLAR, Technical Director of COMPLES (Mediterranean Solar Energy Society), member of the committee of the Peace Village Tamera, Portugal
